Waive Your Organization Apple Developer Annual Fee ($99 USD) Today

Waive the Fee for New Members:

You have been tasked to enroll the City or County in an Apple Developer program. To get started, launch this URL (https://developer.apple.com/programs/enroll/) in a web browser and opt to enroll as an organization. The first step is to create an Apple ID and complete all the steps that follow. Once you've successfully enrolled in an organization Apple Developer account, Apple will send you an email that contains an enrollment ID. Once you have the enrollment ID, you will be able to submit a fee ($99 USD annual) waiver to Apple for them to review and to waive the annual fee as you are a government entity. Please note, Apple will waive the annual fee if the City or County only have free apps under the account.

Below are step by step instructions on how to submit the fee waiver to Apple:

Step 1. Launch this URL (https://developer.apple.com/contact/membership-fee-waiver/) in a web browser and log into your Apple Developer account.

Step 2. Open the "I would like to" drop-down menu and select the option "waive the fee for a new membership".

Step 3. Enter in your contact information in all required fields.

Step 4. Open the "Organization Type" drop-down menu and select the option "Government Entity".

Step 5. Enter in your Enrollment ID and your Tax ID/National ID information in the required fields.

Step 6. Check the box and hit the "Submit" button.

Apple will review the submitted fee waiver and will send you an email shortly informing you that you have saved the city or county $99 USD annually per the fee being waived by Apple.

Waive My Membership Renewal Fee:

You created an organization Apple Developer account for the city or county and you are currently paying the $99 USD annual fee to Apple. We'd like to help you save that annual fee by providing step by step instructions on how to get the annual fee waived by Apple. Apple waives the annual fee for nonprofit organizations, accredited educational institutions, and government entities that will distribute only free apps on the App Store. Your city app is free in the App Store so you get can the fee waived.

Below are step by step instructions on how to submit the fee waiver to Apple if you've been an existing-renewing member:

Step 1. Launch this URL (https://developer.apple.com/contact/membership-fee-waiver/) in a web browser and log into your Apple Developer account.

Do I have to submit a waiver to Apple every year for the fee to be waived?
No. I would note that in the event the organization (city or county) becomes ineligible for the fee waiver for any reason or at any time at Apple’s sole discretion, the fee will no longer be waived. 

Who in my organization and/or in my organization Apple Developer account can submit the fee waiver? Team Agents of eligible organizations can submit a fee waiver at any time before their membership expiration date. Once the fee waiver is approved, the organization will no longer need to pay an annual fee upon renewal.
